On 10 and 11 October 2026, ESHTE took part in the Salon de l’Étudiant in Paris, one of Europe’s most relevant forums dedicated to higher education. The School’s presence was part of its internationalisation strategy, aimed at promoting its academic offering in the French-speaking market, attracting new talent, and positioning ESHTE as a European reference in education and training in tourism, hospitality, and restaurant management.
ESHTE was represented by its President, Professor Carlos Brandão, and by Cláudia Pena, as part of the Portuguese delegation present in the French capital in an initiative promoted by IES – Instituto para o Ensino Superior, focused on promoting Portuguese higher education among international audiences.
Under the “Study & Research in Portugal” brand, the delegation brought together several Portuguese higher education institutions, presenting a joint, qualified and competitive image of the national teaching and scientific research ecosystem. This participation helped increase the visibility of Portugal’s academic offer and promote the country as a destination of excellence for studying, researching and building international academic pathways.
During the event, ESHTE representatives presented the academic offer of ESHTE and NOVA, covering bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees and postgraduate programmes. The outreach activities highlighted the quality of teaching, the strong practical component of the pedagogical model, the close connection to the labour market and the high employability rates associated with the institution’s study programmes.
One of the main focuses of the participation in Paris was direct engagement with the Portuguese-descendant community living in France, in coordination with the initiative led by IES. The ESHTE team had the opportunity to advise young people and families on access conditions to higher education in Portugal, as well as on the academic and professional opportunities offered by the School.
As part of this visit, ESHTE was also present at the prestigious Lycée International de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, in an initiative aligned with its strategic programme of proximity to international school communities. The institutional visit enabled direct contact with students from multicultural backgrounds and with strong academic profiles, with particular attention given to international sections and the Portuguese-speaking community.
During the session, the advantages of choosing ESHTE and NOVA to pursue higher education studies in Portugal were presented, and questions regarding applications, academic pathways, student integration and further study opportunities were addressed.
ESHTE’s participation in the Salon de l’Étudiant in Paris contributed to consolidating the institution’s international profile and to promoting Portuguese higher education among young global talent, in line with the School’s mission to train qualified professionals prepared to meet the challenges of an increasingly international market.
