RE.COV.ER - Recovery of Tourism Businesses post-COVID is a study by the Estoril School of Hospitality and Tourism in collaboration with the IP Setúbal School of Business Sciences, as part of the Estoril branch of CITUR (Center for Tourism Research, Development and Innovation), which has the institutional support of Turismo de Portugal and business associations in the sector.

The aim of this study is to identify the characteristics and practices that distinguish tourism companies in terms of their ability to recover from COVID. Only empirical research specifically designed to study the current situation of tourism businesses in Portugal will provide the scientific evidence needed to design appropriate management (intra-organizational) and policy (supra-organizational) measures. The results will shed light on the characteristics of the companies that will best resist the COVID situation and, in particular, on the actions that managers can take to facilitate recovery. The study will also make it possible to identify priority areas for intervention in policies aimed at these companies and the management of tourist destinations.

The survey is aimed at managers and owners of tourism businesses and is available here.
