ESHTE is a polytechnic higher education institution under public law, endowed with statutory, pedagogical, scientific, cultural, administrative, financial, patrimonial and disciplinary autonomy, without prejudice to the State's powers of supervision, accreditation and external evaluation. Its mission is to achieve excellence in teaching and research in the areas of catering, hospitality, leisure and tourism, through the creation, transmission and dissemination of knowledge and professional practice, in the cultural, artistic, technological and scientific dimensions, within a framework of international reference.

  9. The production and dissemination of knowledge and culture.
  10. Under the terms of the law, the accreditation of ECTS and the recognition of academic degrees and teaching diplomas.

ESHTE therefore has a clear mission, in which graduate training in Tourism, Hospitality and Catering is the undisputed pillar of its intervention, notwithstanding the possibility of extending its performance to other complementary areas, such as: teaching and training in tourism of a professional and vocational nature; fundamental and applied scientific research; providing services to the community and tourism companies; and promoting the genesis and sustainability of businesses linked to the tourism sector. In developing its training activities, ESHTE should provide students with the appropriate learning to become entrepreneurs, creative, innovative, educators and leaders, transformers of the national tourism business landscape and capable of facing future challenges.
