ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS DYNAMISATION CENTRE

The Entrepreneurship and Business Dynamisation Centre is responsible for developing actions in the following areas:

Promoting entrepreneurship at local and regional level, providing new companies with technical support in the start-up phase;

Concentrating ESHTE's human potential in terms of organisation and know-how, with a greater vocation and orientation towards innovation and entrepreneurship, through research and development of products, processes and business models;

Promote a culture of entrepreneurship among ESHTE students and alumni, through the development of activities aimed at creating their own business;

Develop tools to support entrepreneurship and promote links with other institutional or non-institutional platforms;

Represent ESHTE in the PoliEmpreende competition for ideas and business plans, organised jointly by all the Portuguese Polytechnic Institutes;

Develop consultancy activities in the field of technological assistance and the digital economy.

POLIEMPREENDE

What is Poliempreende?

Poliempreende is an initiative jointly promoted by all the country's polytechnic institutes, as well as non-integrated higher education colleges such as ESHTE, and polytechnic colleges of universities, comprising more than 100,000 students and 7,000 teachers.
Through a competition of ideas and business plans, it aims to evaluate and reward projects developed and presented by students, graduates or teachers from these institutions, or other people, as long as they are part of teams made up of students and/or graduates.

Competition rules

How does it take place?

Poliempreende takes place in 2 phases: one regional and one national.
In the regional phase, coordinated by ESHTE, projects developed by ESHTE students, former students and teachers will be competing.
Three workshops will be held to support project development and the best business ideas will be judged in the regional competition by external guests.
The winner of the regional competition will represent ESHTE in the national competition.

16 April - Project submission - on the platform indicated for this purpose
2 May - Presentation to the Regional Jury - (appointment subject to jury availability)

National Competition: 12 to 15 June 2023 (Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave)

What can you win?
There are monetary prizes to be distributed in accordance with the competition regulations.

National prizes:
1st - 10 000 Euros
2nd - 5 000 Euros
3rd - 3 000 Euros

Regional prizes:

1st - 2 000 Euros
2nd - 1 500 Euros
3rd - 1 000 Euros

The National and Regional Prizes may be combined.

Certificates of participation will be awarded to all competitors in the regional and national competitions.
