The students who were the subject of the cooperation agreement between the school, through its SolidAct programme, and the government of the Democratic Republic of East Timor arrived at ESHTE on 13 September 2011.
Before starting their teaching activities, they underwent an intense programme designed to help them adapt quickly to the school, the country and the Portuguese language.
ESHTE wishes a warm welcome to Bety Silva, Clareta Freitas, Dioneia Carvalho, Felicidade Ximenes, Justo Ximenes and Zerzónia Araujo.
Campaign to collect technical books on hospitality and tourism
The Canossian School of Baucau is a private institution that runs various medium-level training courses, including one in tourism, with components in the fields of hospitality, food production and bar management, among others.
It has a very small library, with almost no books in Portuguese and no technical books. Therefore, the academic community that owns technical books on hospitality and tourism (in any language, but preferably in Portuguese), no longer needs them or wants to put them to better and more social use, is asked to hand them in to the secretariat of the presidency.
The names of the donors will be recorded and sent together with the books, which will be transported to East Timor by the National Republican Guard.
