The Lisbon Food Affair, which took place at the Lisbon International Fair (FIL) between the 10th and 12th of February, was the event chosen for the official presentation of XICHA’s, an innovative pea-based burger, developed in partnership between TAGUSVALLEY and the Estoril Higher School of Hotel and Tourism (ESHTE). With a healthy and sustainable proposal, this product values local and natural ingredients and offers a nutritious alternative to the market.
The launch occurred during a show-cooking led by Professor Nelson Félix (ESHTE), Eng. Sara Dias (TAGUSVALLEY) and students of the Master's in Innovation in Culinary Arts and Sciences (MIACC), Beatriz Ramos and Edgar Matos. During the presentation, the public had the opportunity to learn more about the characteristics of XICHA’s, a burger free from colorings, additives, gluten, and ingredients of animal origin – making it an ideal option for celiacs and vegans.
Those responsible for the project emphasize that XICHA goes beyond a simple food alternative: it represents a commitment to innovation and sustainability, contributes to market diversification, and incentivizes more conscious choices.
