Vice-President of ESHTE participates in strategic initiatives for the tourism sector in Mozambique

Professor João Reis, Vice-President of the Estoril Higher School of Hotel Management and Tourism (ESHTE), was invited by the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) to participate in various initiatives related to the tourism sector, reinforcing ESHTE's presence in the Portuguese-speaking world.
 
On November 12, 2025, João Reis participated as a speaker at the XX Annual Private Sector Conference, organized by the CTA, at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Center in Maputo. He spoke on the panel "Tourism as a strategic pillar of economic diversification and job creation: infrastructure and investment," with a presentation entitled "Strategic Management of Tourist Destinations in Mozambique - Diversifying and qualifying for competitive, inclusive and sustainable development." He highlighted the role of tourism as an engine of economic and social development.
 
Following the conference, he went to the Higher School of Hospitality and Tourism of Inhambane (ESHTI), where he participated in the updating of the Memorandum of Understanding with ESHTE. He also promoted a support session for professors in the creation of a Tourism Research Center. The agreement aims to strengthen academic, scientific, and training cooperation between the two institutions.
 
On November 18, 2025, João Reis moderated the Hybrid Workshop for Strategic Reflection on the Future of Tourism and Hospitality in Mozambique, held at the Afrin Prestige Hotel in Maputo. The meeting brought together managers, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the sector in a space for analysis and definition of priorities for the sustainable development of Mozambican tourism.
 
These participations confirmed the connection between academic knowledge, international experience, and commitment to the development of the sector, consolidating the notoriety of ESHTE and its role in cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries.
