On November 10th and 17th, first-year students of the Hotel Management and Direction (DGH) course at ESHTE participated in study visits to the Hotel Cascais Miragem, as part of the Introduction to Hotel Operations course. The initiative involved classes B and A, respectively, and saw excellent student participation.
During the visits, students had the opportunity to explore the various areas of the hotel, including public spaces such as the lobby, restaurant, bar, spa, and pool, as well as rooms, suites, and service areas such as laundry, linen room, storeroom, dining room, kitchens, and pantries. The experience was enriched by the detailed explanations provided by the hotel's department directors, including Suzete Gonçalves (General Housekeeper), Cláudia Diogo (Human Resources Director), and Jorge Sequeira (Food and Beverage Director).
The visit provided students with a practical and in-depth view of the workings of the different departments of a leading hotel, complementing the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom. The event culminated in a pleasant cocktail reception offered by the hotel in its restaurant, concluding the experience memorably.
This activity demonstrates ESHTE's dedication to providing its students with practical experiences and close contact with the job market, preparing them for the challenges of the hotel industry.
