As part of the STUDENTWELL-Be Project, a session was held on April 9th, in the ESHTE auditorium, especially dedicated to preparing students for the first curricular internship.
The initiative, promoted by the Office for Support for Professional Insertion and Lifelong Training, was attended by the Internship Coordinator, Professor João Pronto, and Clinical Psychologist Filipa Chasqueira Saraiva. Both led the session, which had as its central point the dialogue between 3rd year students, who have already gone through the internship experience, and colleagues who will face this stage for the first time.
The main objectives of this meeting were to guide future interns in this new phase of their academic career, promote the sharing of authentic experiences, help manage expectations and fears, and present practical strategies to face potential challenges — from finding an internship location to adapting to the professional environment.
The session reinforced the importance of peer support and emotional and practical preparation as fundamental factors for successful integration in the first contact with the world of work.
