
On April 9th and 10th, students of the Master's in Food Safety and the Bachelor's in Food Production in Catering had the opportunity to participate in a series of lectures led by Professor Eduardo Tondo, a specialist in microbiology and food safety, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil).
The first lecture, entitled "Prevalence of Salmonella from Farm to Table," took place on April 9th at 10:30 a.m. Professor Tondo explored the presence of Salmonella bacteria throughout the food chain, from primary production to consumption, referring to the associated risks and prevention strategies.
On April 10th, at 6:30 pm, the specialist presented "Risk communication in food safety problems". This session addressed the importance of effective communication in health crises and environmental surveillance methods that guarantee the quality and safety of food products.
These initiatives were designed to enrich students' education, bringing them closer to scientific research and innovative practices applied in the food sector.
