International Day of the Interpretive Guide

On Thursday, February 22, 2024, the Estoril Room hosted the International Day of the Interpretive Guide, a round table on the theme "The Carnation Revolution - changes in the practice of interpretive guides".

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the April Revolution, and the aim of the event was to inform students on the Tourism Information degree and other courses, as well as professionals in the field, about what the practice of interpreter-guides, tourist couriers and institutional agents linked to tourism promotion was like before and after April 25.

To enrich the discussion, a representative of the future 25 de Abril Interpretive Center was invited to present the contents that will be available in this new facility.

In this way, the practices and experiences of those who worked in Tourism Information and Promotion in Portugal were shared, in a country so different from what it is today, before the arrival of the winds of Freedom.
