As part of the 3rd year Business Strategy subject, taught by professors Maria de Lurdes Calisto (D) and Victor Afonso (PL), two teams from the Hotel Management and Administration course participated, between May 12th and 17th, in Cesim Elite Hospitality. This business simulation highlights the relevance of pedagogical innovation and gamification in teaching, encouraging active student engagement, strategic thinking, and decision-making in realistic contexts.
In this competition, participants manage a medium-sized hotel, covering areas such as Strategy, Human Resources, and Financial Management. The challenge allows you to apply the knowledge acquired throughout the course in practice, reinforcing your preparation for the job market.
More than one hundred students from hotel schools in Germany, Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Slovakia, Guatemala, the Netherlands, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, and the Dominican Republic participated in the competition.
The DGH D class B team, led by Daniela Bulat, won 4th place in their group. The DGH D class A team, made up of Fábio Pontes, Mafalda Oliveira, and Maria do Fundo Martins, won their respective group. A remarkable performance that deserves recognition and celebration!
