Gastronomic Event Celebrates Flavors of Extremadura

On the 14th and 15th of April, the Estoril Higher School of Hotel Management and Tourism (ESHTE) hosted a unique celebration of Extremaduran gastronomy, in two moments that brought together tradition, talent, and excellent training.

The first day was marked by a masterclass in cutting Iberian ham, led by the renowned master Pepe Alba. With skill and passion, Alba impressed the participants, sharing refined techniques and stories around one of the most emblematic Iberian products.

On the second day, Restaurante Descobertas hosted a unique tasting lunch, promoted as part of the practical classes for the degree in Food Production in Catering. The initiative, organized in partnership with Extremadura Avante and sponsored by the brand “Alimentos de Extremadura”, highlighted the authentic flavors of the Spanish region.

Under the guidance of professors António Pires and Gilberto Costa, the event also featured the valuable participation of Extremaduran chefs, with the menu carefully prepared with excellent Extremaduran products, resulting in a gastronomic experience that delighted everyone present. The service was provided by undergraduate students in Hotel Management and Management, who demonstrated high professionalism and dedication, reflecting the quality of teaching provided at ESHTE.
