On 26 October, as part of the World Food Day celebrations, João Aleixo and Tomás Rosa, graduates in Food Production in Catering (PAR), held a special event for the 5th and 6th grade students at Benedita Primary School. The main aim of this Workshop/Showcooking was to awaken the children's interest in healthy and diversified food.
The initiative, accompanied by Prof Ana Sarmento, a nutritionist, and Chef Nelson Félix, aimed to present a tasty recipe that would bring new flavours to the children, different from the ones they usually eat, introducing innovative ingredients such as wild mushrooms and new aromatics. The choice of these elements aimed not only to create a delicious dish, but also to educate the children about the importance of exploring new flavours and ingredients in their diet.
Information was shared about healthy eating and cooking habits, emphasising the importance of food choices for long-term health. The message was conveyed in a didactic and interactive way, using easy-to-understand language so that the children could absorb the information effectively.
