On May 16, 2025, promoted by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Dynamization (NEDE), the Estoril School of Hospitality and Tourism (ESHTE) proudly and with a spirit of innovation received the regional phase of the Poliempreende Competition, an important milestone in promoting entrepreneurship in polytechnic higher education.
After the presentation of the projects and the careful evaluation by the jury, the first three places were awarded:
1st place – FUSION Project - presented by João Silva (DGH, 3rd Year PL) – will represent ESHTE in the National Poliempreende Competition to be held at the University of Aveiro, in September.
2nd place – BORA Events Project – presented by Tânia Fernandes (Master in Tourism – Events) and Débora Baungartner
3rd place – ALOGI Project – presented by Tomás Abreu and Mariana Cal (IST)
ESHTE congratulates the winners for the excellence, creativity, and relevance of the solutions presented, which reflect the talent and ambition of our students to impact the sector and society positively.
To all participants, we express our deep appreciation for the commitment, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated throughout the process. A word of special appreciation and gratitude to the mentor teachers, whose close monitoring and pedagogical guidance were fundamental to the development of the projects. We would also like to thank the members of the regional jury — Dr. Marta Contino (Caixa Geral de Depósitos), Dr. Pedro Lourenço (DNA Cascais), Dr. Sérgio Lorga and Prof. Doctor João Reis (ESHTE), who chaired the jury — for his availability, professionalism and valuable contribution to the rigor and prestige of this initiative.
We cannot fail to thank all our colleagues who ensured the success of the competition’s organization, contributing to this edition taking place with high quality and a sense of mission. Active participation in Poliempreende reinforces ESHTE's commitment to innovation, employability and the development of entrepreneurial skills in its students.
