DGH students visit Hotel EVOLUTION Cascais-Estoril as part of the Architecture, Design and Commercial Management Courses

On March 17th and April 7th, students from the 3rd year classes and the after-work class of the Hotel Management and Administration (DGH) course carried out technical visits to the Hotel Evolution Cascais-Estoril. These visits took place within the scope of the Hotel Architecture and Design and Commercial Management Techniques Curricular Units, under the guidance of professors Sílvia Suarez and Duarte Pimentel.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to see all the hotel's public areas, such as the lobby, restaurant, bar, spa, and pool, on a guided tour by the Assistant Director. They also visited different types of rooms, which allowed them to understand the diversity of the accommodation on offer.

The visit extended to the service areas, including laundry, linen room, warehouse, cafeteria, kitchens, and pantries, providing a practical view behind the scenes of hotel operations. One of the most enriching moments was the support of the Maintenance Director, who explained in detail how the hotel's technical areas work, such as HVAC systems, fire safety, heating and water control, and electricity. Students were able to understand the importance of engineering and maintenance in hotel operations, as well as the good practices implemented in this department.

The group also had the opportunity to meet the hotel's General Manager, who shared his professional experience, Evolution Cascais-Estoril's commercial strategy, the main markets and target segments, and management indicators essential for the unit's success.

This visit was a valuable educational experience, which allowed students to understand the practical reality of contemporary hospitality.
