March 2018 witnessed the journeys that the 3rd year accomplishes to the North, and the 2nd to the South. Accompanied by professors Vítor Ambrósio, Carla Braga and Isabel Baptista, (besides theoretical contents taught in Travel Assistance) the journeys allow students to get acquainted with the national tourist offer, and apply linguistic and cultural knowledge especially considering the current European Year of Cultural Heritage.

Inherent to the learning and evaluation process, tasks and research themes are previously distributed by the faculty. In loco, or at the microphone students resort to foreign languages as means to present topics on tangible and intangible heritage, venues and routes, lodging and landscaping diversity.

The journey to the North and the Centre encompasses cities like Coimbra, Porto and Viseu, natural areas like the Aveiro lagoon and the Gerês and Estrela parks, besides units like the Vidago Hotel.

In the South, the itinerary between the Vicentina coastline, the Formosa lagoon and the São Mamede mountain range includes towns like Lagos, Silves, Faro, Beja, Vila Viçosa and Marvão, besides the World Heritage Sites of Évora and Elvas.

Across its 27 years of existence ESHTE has been investing in its students’ proximity to the territorial reality, not only considering field trips and journeys across the country, but also the internships in disparate host units.
