The Forgotten Food Festival

The Forgotten Food Festival 2019 aimed to “revive recipes and ingredients lost in memory, and in some cases on the verge of extinction of their species, both because they are associated with poverty; or rurality; or because they are not species of current agricultural interest.” This festival, supported by the Algarve 365 cultural program, encompassed a number of initiatives, including two sensory experiences on 8 and 9 November - in Lagoa and S. Braz de Alportel - which we based on the theme “Momentum - From Forest to Prato”, using regional products related to the objective of the festival, and animated by performances. These moments were guided by Professors Maria José Pires and Ricardo Bonacho with the 2019/2020 edition masters students (Innovation in Culinary Arts), under the guidance of Chef André Gerardo.
